Theophany Schedule
In the Gospel of St. Mark, the beginning is presented with the Baptism of Christ Jesus. In the Gospel of St. John, after the beginning of all things, mirroring Genesis, we also are introduced to the place of the Word of God, the LOGOS (the Son of God). The next thing to be presented is the Baptism of Christ Jesus again. He is introduced by the Holy Prophet and Forerunner John as 'the Lamb of God.' Then, we see the introduction of the Trinity: the Voice of the Father validates the Son standing in the Water and the Holy Spirit confirms it as a Dove.
This feast is known as Theophany or 'manifestation of God', the Holy Trinity, one God in three persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. This is one of the major feasts of the Church since ancient times. Below is the schedule of services tomorrow, January 18, the eve of Theophany, and January 19, the day of Theophany.
